The kinds of meals you eat, the drinks you take, how much sleep you get and exercise play a great role in how much progress you make. Exercising is more of a catalyst, it speeds up your progress. Some of us do have busy schedules, don’t like the idea of exercising or don’t have the stamina for exercising, I want to let u know that you can still achieve your fitness goals.
The major area you will need to concentrate on is what goes into your stomach. The food you eat and drinks you consume.

- Check your sugar intake. We live in Nigeria where access to sugar is easy as pie. There’s struggle, eating and drinking sugar in this part of the world is easy and cheap. Now, what you need to need is check how much of sugary foods you consume daily because this maybe why you have a big tummy. Shilpa Arora, Macrobiotic Nutritionist and Health Practitioner, warns, “Don’t consume simple sugars like refined flour, bread, white rice cakes and biscuits after 5 p.m.” Dr. Anju Sood, Bangalore-based nutritionist, explains the physiology behind cutting down on sugar for weight loss, “Your primary aim should be to prevent food from being converted into unnecessary fat that remains in the body. For this, you need to cut down on complex carbs and High Glycemic Index foods. High GI foods generate a high quantum of sugar, and the excess of it gets converted into fat.
- Eat Protein.
Adding protein to your diet helps you lose weight even without exercising. This is because protein contains very little or no amount of sugar.
If you eat a carbohydrate meal for breakfast, you should consider having a protein based meal for lunch. Protein helps to curb hunger thereby reducing excessive food intake. Examples of protein rich meals are; fish, Greek yoghurt, almond, chicken etc. - Drink enough water.
Do the water therapy, this helps to reduce how much food you eat especially if you drink it before a meal. Replace drinks high in calories with water. This will greatly reduce your belly size. Sugary drinks like coke, fanta, Pepsi etc highly increases belly size because of the high content in them. So it will be of good to your stomach and entire body system if you replace them with water. - Serve yourself smaller portions of food.

Ingredients includes lemon, mint leaves and cucumber.
Cut them into smaller portions and soak in water, allow these ingredients to mix well in the water. You can let it stay all night or for a couple of hours. Soaking overnight is a better option. Drink on empty stomach.
All these will help you achieve a flatter stomach without exercising. You can take walks, do some yoga or belly stretching, this can also go a long way to help you achieve faster results.
